Graduates with a degree in Systems Engineering prepare for in-demand careers across a broad range of sectors. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the field of computer and information systems management is expected to grow 12 percent from 2016 to 2026, faster than average, as firms transition to digital platforms.

Systems Engineering degrees allow for specialization in several industries prominent in the DFW Metroplex including aerospace, space and defense; information assurance and cyber security; telecom and information technology networks; healthcare systems; enterprise systems; energy resources infrastructure; transportation; retail and consumer goods, and financial services.

Companies — such as Raytheon, ELCAN, Ericsson, TI and HP — increasingly rely upon systems engineering managers to execute complex, big-picture projects.

Undergraduate and graduate systems engineering students have access to the Jonsson School Career Services office to help them navigate internships and resources essential to helping students prepare for the job market.  They also have access to the UT Dallas Career Center and the JSOM Career Management center.
